Fan Zhengyi stuns Judd Trump in Nanjing decider
Fan Zhengyi produced the biggest result of the International Championship so far, defeating Judd Trump 6-5 in a dramatic second-round decider in Nanjing.
Trump made the stronger start and moved 2-0 ahead, but Fan answered with four consecutive frames, helped by breaks of 50, 53 and 73. Trump responded in style with runs of 72 and 66 to draw level at 4-4.
A break of 71 put Fan one frame from victory before Trump compiled an 81 to force the decider. The final frame became a tense, low-scoring battle, with Fan holding his nerve to seal his first professional win over Trump.
Elsewhere, recent Northern Ireland Open champion Kyren Wilson survived another scare. He trailed Liam Highfield 5-3 before winning the final three frames, including a superb 127 in the tenth, to complete a 6-5 comeback. Defending champion Wu Yize also advanced with a convincing 6-1 win over Robbie Williams.
