Higgins storms past Chang to set up Wilson final

John Higgins produced a commanding display to beat Chang Bingyu 9-2 and set up an International Championship final against Kyren Wilson in Nanjing.

The four-time world champion led 6-2 after the opening session, with breaks of 80, 55, 93, 131 and 103. He returned in the evening with another century, a 110, before taking the next two frames to complete an emphatic victory.

Higgins will now contest the 61st ranking final of his remarkable career and his second consecutive International Championship final. He won the title in 2015 and finished runner-up to Wu Yize last year.

Saturday’s best-of-19 final promises an intriguing contrast. Wilson arrives on an 11-match winning streak and is chasing back-to-back ranking titles, while Higgins is bidding for his 34th ranking crown and a piece of snooker history.
