Vinnie Calabrese makes Australian Open history with fourth straight title

Vinnie Calabrese continued his remarkable run in Sydney by defeating Daniell Haenga 6-2 to win the 2026 Bob Hawke AC Memorial Australian Open.

The Australian claimed the title for a fourth consecutive year, extending his unbeaten streak at the event to 24 matches. Calabrese edged the opening frame on the black and built a 4-1 lead before completing the victory with breaks including 86 and 65.

His route to the trophy also featured a tournament-high 136 against Steve Mifsud in the quarter-finals, followed by a 5-3 semi-final win over James Mifsud.

The victory was Calabrese’s second on this season’s Q Tour Asia-Pacific circuit and moves him to the top of the regional rankings, an important step in the race toward the Q Tour Global Play-Offs and a possible World Snooker Tour card.
