World champion Wu Yize wins 2026 Shenzhen Open

World champion Wu Yize defeated Yuan Sijun 10-5 to win the 2026 Shenzhen Open and claim his third career ranking title.

Wu opened the all-Chinese final with a break of 117 and added an 80 as he moved 3-1 ahead. Yuan, appearing in his first ranking final, responded by winning three consecutive frames, but Wu recovered to finish the opening session with a 5-4 lead.

The 22-year-old took control in the evening, with breaks including 74 and 62 helping him establish an 8-5 advantage. Two more frames completed the victory and earned Wu his first ranking title since becoming world champion at the Crucible in May.

It was another impressive week for Wu, who also beat Shaun Murphy in a deciding frame before defeating Judd Trump 6-1 in the semi-finals.
