1. Game Troubleshooting
a. What are the System Requirements to run iSnooker?
Minimum CPU 800 MHz. Recommended 1GHz or above. 3D graphics card. Directx 8.0 or above. Latest Windows Updates (recommended for stability and preformance) 50Mb Hard Disk space Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP are all fully supported. Windows 98 is not longer being prioritised as its no longer being developed by Microsoft. Windows 95 is not supported.

b. I get an error when running iSnooker, How can I fix this?
1. Check that you have installed the latest DirectX 9.0c version from Microsoft – www.microsoft.com/directx

2. Update your Graphics Card to the latest driver. Normally you will be able to obtain this from the Website for the Graphics card. i.e. for NVIDIA cards (GeForce) -> www.nvidia.com - If you do not know your graphics card model you can do so by;

    a) Click Start -> Run (On Windows)
    b) Type: dxdiag (press enter)
    c) Click on "Display" tab
    d) The Graphics Card Name will be listed at the top-left

3. If you haven't already done so, run Windows Update. Click Windows Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update. This will update your system with the latest windows drivers, which will also be beneficial to your computer for other applications / games.

c. I have the latest version of iSnooker but cannot access the Lobbies?
Firstly, you should ensure that you are running the latest version by visiting our download page and Refresing the page (F5 key). Once you have refreshed the page, you should download and install iSnooker and try accessing the lobbies. If you cannot access the lobby, Please see Question e) & f) of Game Troubleshooting. If this doesn't help, please contact brandon@thesnookerclub.com

d. I have a Router / Firewall, which Ports do I need open to access the lobbies?
iSnooker requires TCP ports 1700-1720 and 1799 to be fully accessible (open for both inbound and outbound traffic).

For information regarding forwarding of TCP / UDP ports for those using a Router or Firewall please visits these sites:

  • www.portforward.com/routers.htm - ROUTERS (find your router make and follow the guide Port Forwarding for the Router)
  • firewalling.com/routers.htm - routers & firewall information
  •
    e. I get Gateway Not Found when trying to connect to the lobbies?
    1. Disable your Firewall
    If you are running Windows XP / 2000, try disabling firewall as this may be preventing you access to the game. The Internal XP firewall can be found at; Start-->Control Panel-->Network Connections-->choose your active internet connection-->properties-->Advanced-->untick "Internet Connection Firewall". This procedure may vary on other Windows versions (ME, 98) but in general, the firewall can be found under Network Connections (from Control Panel).

    2. Program Conflict
    Try closing all other programs you have running before running the game. There may be a conflict between programs, causing you to have problems connecting to a Lobby or opening the game.

    3. Port Access
    The lobbies run on different ports and if you are unable to join anyone of them then it would seem like a firewall program is blocking your computer from entering it. To access the lobbies make sure that TCP Ports 1700-1720 and 1799 are open for inbound and outbound traffic.

    4. Windows Update
    Running Windows Update may resolve this problem and it is worth a try. To update your system from Microsoft you need to; Click Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update.

    If you need any further help please don't hesitate to contact support@thesnookerclub.com

    f. I get Connection Refused when trying to connect to the Lobbies?
    If you get this message, it could mean you have a Firewall enabled either through a Windows program or on a Router (see Question d). Remember that some Anti-Virus programs have built-in firewalls, so you should check for this. If you have a firewall enabled you may need to disable this or configure the ports (see Question d) before you can access the lobbies.

    g. I have Dual Processor and the game runs Jerky (slow), what can I do?
    You need to tell Windows to only use one Processor for the game, which you can do by;

  • Right Click on the Windows Taskbar
  • Click on Task Manager
  • Right Click on the iSnooker.exe Process and select "Set Affinity"
  • Deselect CPU 1 from the list of both CPU Threads available so that only CPU 0 is ticked
  • After doing this the game should not be jerky or slow anymore
